Design a character on paper
This gingerbread man printable starts with one continuous outline: a round head, two arms and two legs. There are no prefilled facial details, so children can decide where to place the eyes, smile and buttons. Use the sheet for a classroom display, a story illustration or a paper decorating activity while food is being prepared elsewhere. The download is a craft template and is not a recipe or a food-safe cutting tool.
Measure before tracing
At actual size the figure is six inches tall. Print the Letter PDF at one hundred percent and measure the one-inch calibration square below the drawing. If the square is too small, check for an automatic shrink setting. A correctly sized paper figure can be traced onto another sheet several times to make a row of characters. Card suitable for the printer gives a firmer tracing edge than thin paper.
Explore pairs and repeated details
Ask learners to count the arms and legs and find matching features on the two sides. They can draw circular buttons, add a pattern to the cuffs or compare the length of two drawn scarves. Folding a spare paper copy along the middle can help them explore approximate symmetry. Decorate before cutting, and give younger children help around the curves between the arms and body.
Move from the craft to shape language
The free page supplies one blank outline with a size check. The existing Shape Flashcards pack supplies a different task: naming shapes, matching filled and outlined forms, comparing sides and corners, and looking for shapes in the surroundings. Use those cards when a learner is ready to describe the circles and other forms added to the character. The paid product is a general shape resource and does not contain additional gingerbread templates.
